July 2007: The Israeli Diamond Industry launches its Strategy in ChinaThe Israel Diamond Institute (IDI), the umbrella organization of The Israeli Diamond Industry, officially launched its new strategic campaign focusing on the Chinese diamond market. Early this July, IDI visited Beijing, Shanghai and Hong Kong having a weeklong series of events which included: The Israeli Diamond Industry today officially affirmed China as its top priority. IDI Chairman Mr. Moti Ganz said: “ The Chinese economy is undergoing historical changes of fast paced growth and the emergence of a strong consumer market. The Israeli Diamond Industry believes in the enormous potential of this market. We will strive to duplicate the spirit of cooperation and partnership that has characterized Israel-China relations for so many years in the areas of technology and agriculture.” IDI Managing Director Mr. Eli Avidar said: “China is not only a country or a nation; it is an entire continent. We believe that China represents the future of The Israeli Diamond Industry. We want to enhance the presence of The Israeli Diamond Industry in this market, and we know that in order to do so we must reach out to the Chinese people in their own language and on their own territory. It is for that reason that we are launching The Israel Diamond Industry Portal in Chinese creates a B2B marketplace for the exchange of business contacts that lead to actual transactions. Specifically geared to the needs of this market it offers, in Chinese: a powerful search engine for locating Israeli diamond companies by type of goods, a Diamond Needs Board with a real-time alert system, continuously updated industry news from Israel and the world and information on how to do business with Israel. IDI has expanded its annual trade show participation in China to include five shows including pavilions of up to 40 companies under the roof of The Israeli Diamond Industry. The expansion encompasses two trade fairs in Hong Kong, and one each in Shanghai, Shenzhen and Macau.
